George’s story

When George was 5 weeks old he became really unwell and was diagnosed with Pyloric Stenosis, a condition which requires emergency surgery.
“Their empathetic approach helped us stay calm and reassured.”

He was unable to have the surgery at our local hospital, so we had to be transferred by New Zealand Air Ambulance Service to Wellington Hospital.

The pilots were friendly and professional, their empathetic approach helped us stay calm and reassured, knowing George was in good hands. The medical care provided onboard was exceptional. The team demonstrated both expertise and dedication, ensuring that George received the best possible care throughout the transfer.

George was operated on the day after we arrived and thankfully has no ongoing complications from his surgery. Huge thank you to the New Zealand Air Ambulance Service, you never know when you might need this critical lifeline, flying you to the care you need.

With thanks, Ashlee, mum of George.
