Jeff's mother suffered a severe fall that left her unable to fly home commercially
My 82-year-old mother from the US traveled across Australia and New Zealand, but on her last day, she suffered a severe fall that resulted in a compound fracture of her tibia and a shattered left wrist.
Following emergency surgery at Auckland City Hospital, she was eager to return home. However, the medical staff informed us that she could not fly commercially. As a result, I had to arrange a medivac charter for her flight back to the United States. The local surgeon in New Zealand recommended Annabel, the CEO of the New Zealand Air Ambulance Service.
The NZAAS team were incredible; they worked tirelessly to find a suitable medivac plane for my mother’s return, ensured a smooth transfer from the hospital to the plane, and made sure my mother had top-notch medical staff accompanying her during the flight.
I was kept informed at every stage, from takeoff to landing in the US. Once we arrived in the US, the team ensured my mother was safely escorted to the hospital. I truly could not have navigated this situation without Annabel and her team’s unwavering support. I am immensely grateful for their efforts in bringing my mother back safely, and I highly recommend their services.
